Note that the College Board has changed their calendar for SAT test dates.  Previously, they offered the SAT each year in January.  Beginning this year, they removed the January test date.  But they inserted a new test date on August 26, 2017.  This new date is intended to help students and parents meet timetables for college admissions processes.

ACT/SAT test prep can feel overwhelming for your student, especially during the busy school year.  With the new August test date for the SAT, you might want to consider ACT/SAT test prep for your high school student over the summer.  A test result from August can give you timely feedback for your college admissions process, and peace of mind over the winter holidays.

ACT/SAT Test Prep helps students improve scores

Our private tutors are experienced in helping high school students prepare for the ACT and SAT standardized tests.

“Familiarizing yourself with the types of questions asked is vital!” notes Angela Anderson. “The SAT asks math questions in a very different style from the typical math test in school. Trying out practice tests helps students understand how questions are asked.  It also reveals the most frequently covered topics.”

For both ACT and SAT prep, students should try practice or released tests, and they should make an effort to time themselves.

Finishing the test within the allotted time is part of the challenge!

“Students should also review vocabulary,” Angela recommends.  “There are plenty of ‘Top 100 SAT Word’ lists online.  Those words appear consistently on exams.”  You can find an example here.
