Improve your teen’s ACT/SAT test scores with a personal approach. At A Step Ahead, our private tutors work side-by-side with your student to help them improve test scores. It’s private tutoring with a personal approach.
Our experienced tutors start with your student. They understand your child’s areas of strength and identify gaps. They want to know your student on a personal level, too. Learning what is important to each child is a critical step in helping them gain confidence and skills.
Advice for your student to improve test scores
Familiarizing yourself with the types of questions asked is vital! For example, the SAT asks math questions in a very different style from the typical math test in school.
Trying out practice tests not only helps with understanding how questions are asked, but also reveals the most frequently covered topics.
For both SAT and ACT prep, students should try practice or released tests. They should also make an effort to time themselves. Finishing the test within the allotted time is part of the challenge!
Finally, students should also review vocabulary. There are plenty of ‘Top 100 SAT Word’ lists online, and those words appear consistently on exams. You can check one out here.
